Ada Merritt Celebrates Hispanic Heritage

Monday, October 12th was a very special day at Ada Merritt K-8 Center. The school celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Day and in Brazil “Dias das Crianças” or Children’s Day was celebrated throughout the country.

Students came dressed representing countries throughout Latin American and Spain to commemorate the special day. Students that wore costumes representating their country paraded through the school.

This event was very special for the students as they are either in the Spanish or Portuguese program and are submersed in the culture and education of these countries on a daily basis. It was a beautiful and fun event for the students, teachers and staff as it gave everyone an opportunity to celebrate Hispanic Heritage in a fun and educational way. This wonderful event was made possible by SIPA, our Spanish International Parent Association.
